International Vice-Captain
First and last name starting with the same alphabet XI

Gordon Greenidge
Graham Gooch
Richie Richardson
Steve Smith
Colin Cowdrey
Mushtaq Mohammad
Tatenda Taibu
Peter Pollock
Malcolm Marshall
Colin Croft
Muttiah Muralitharan

Chris Cairns and Mulvantrai Mankad could also be included but I felt Mushtaq Mohammad was the better batsman and fits the fifth bowler's role as well. Yousuf Youhana loses out because of name change.

Nah.. integrity is paramount in such exercises. Its Mahendra Singh Dhoni. You could use Arun Lal or Madan Lal though :p

Well technically most South Indian players have only one name. The surname is not a thing here. So you can have any of Srikkanth, Ramesh, Balaji etc. without breaking the "rules"..

Yeah CB Fry was in the original side but was considered a cheat.

Update:

1. Ed Cowan
2. Abid Ali
3. Rob Key
4. Joe Root
5. Ian Bell
6. Zoe Goss
7. Les Ames
8. Umar Gul
9. Tim May
10. Jo Angel
11. Isa Guha

Down to 76 letters. Can't really pick Arun Lal over Chris Old and still have enough bowlers though

Edit: we can pick Gul though. 75. Thank you for taking this exercise seriously, I think we really achieved something today.
