Is Kenya no more the best NON Test Playing Nation?
I don't follow Associate Cricket will enough to answer the question, but I beleive a full-strength Ireland XI would bethe strongest non-Test playing nation at this stage. Kenya have become significantly weaker over the past few years, but as somebody mentioned in another thread, there is still a few ODIs between these countries before the end of the year. After that we may be presented with a better picture about the strength of each side.

*Envies the amount of cricket that European Associates are getting*

Lots of things, ranging from a lack of impetus, corruption, the ICC preferring the money making potential of Bangladesh's hordes of fanatics and so forth.

I would make a really long post highlighting the failures and omissions of the KCA/Cricket Kenya but I am really sleepy right now and I have an exam tomorrow.

Kenya still does not have a fixed A' team.
Not strictly true - certainly there have been several more a team fixtures played over the last 12 months than in the whole time under the old KCA. Part of the trouble is the funding for them to play and also the lack of opposition.

The European teams are lucky as you have the big 3 - Ireland, Scotland and Holland whose a teams can access each other relatively easily and provide good quality opposition as well as up and coming teams such as Denmark etc who also give A teams good opposition.

Kenya has Uganda. Tanzania are on the up, but really not yet a match for Kenya A. Regular games against Uganda are played by the 'Afripals' team which is a cross between Kenya and Kenya A - probably about right in terms of where Uganda are relatively.

I know for a fact that CK are constantly trying to organise games, but they need the support of the ACA to achieve this. There should be a format where Kenya A & Zim A, play regularly against Each other and the up coming teams. And then the Africa Cup needs to be revived as well. could go on forever really...

Bad, By now Kenya should have been a Test Nation & better then Bangladesh if things have gone their way! Don't know wat went really wrong? Can anyone pls explain?
As much as I would love to have seen Kenya become a Test team - no we shouldn't be. There is not yet the cricketing infrastructure and grass roots support needed for this to be successful. Once cricket is genuinely spread to Rift Valley, Western Kenya and Coast cricket is reignited, perhaps this could be on the cards.

Then i see chances for Ireland to be a Test nation even before Kenya?

Unlikely unless they also start playing a decent amount of domestic multi day cricket.

Ultimately, if a nation is going to succeed at Test level, they need the top players playing 3-4 day games regularly. I think that as soon as a nation starts to do this, they will walk away with the IC and then will have the position to call for Test status.
