Hey, calm down, Jamee!

The point is that Nepal have far more reason to be in the poll than most of the others - it's not disputed that Kenya will be the next test side, it's pretty much official.

Eddie's just winding you up mate :)

And Eddie - don't be quite so harsh on the little ones :)

Israel!

j/k I voted for Kenya. They need a solid FC competition, one that last fiurs days, a home and away and oenm that has a variety of types of wickets. Instead of batting paradises.

If I can be brutally blunt at this point IMO I don't want to see anyone else given Test status until the ICC have sorted out their current balls up re Bangladesh!!!!

IMO there has to be some sort of halfway stage / 2 tiered system - call it what you will but the current gulf from non-Test status to playing with the big boys is tougher than it ever was and is just going to keep on getting tougher as everyone tries to lift their game to compete with Australia!!!!

I don't care what population base the game has, how much money or tradition or anything - the newbies are going to keep getting hammered.

While the die hard local supporters may be able to put up with this, what about those teams that host these whipping boys - how long will their crowds continue to support the game & how much damage will be done to their support & player base while the current situation is allowed to continue?????

So would Israel tour Zimbabwe??? Discuss!

After having Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates stamps scrawled all over my passport, that has kind of stopped any hope I had of going to Israel for a few years! Not that id want to of course...

Oh I dont know.

They probably would if they wanted to get somewhere.

I propose a 3-Test series between Kenya and Bangladesh.

I'm spending the winter 2005/06 in France as part of my degree course (so long as I don't fail this year by spending too much time on CW), hope to get heavily involved in Cricket Coaching when I'm over there.

To get cricket up and running in the USA, I suggest we somehow get George Dubya Bush top a cricket match, as let's face, it he is a walking media person and will get the media coverage it needs, and to make it complusory in the schools, for kiddies to study the sociocultural, historical, events of Bodyline and the reasons why Douglas Jardine did what he did and became the most hated man in Australia.

I believe tasmania should be the next test team

They have a host of young players and ponting is world class

There is a strong movement in the island to make it an independant nation, and if things go to plan in the next election and the new independant bob foster is elected he might push through a vote for independance

If that occurs i believe that they would be a logical coice

Hey-a, Don-a Ricardo.

I think you-a may be on-a to something. Perhaps if-a da family move from-a Sicily an independent Tasmania might-a be da place for a small-a franchise business.

Needs-a a good Italian-a boy to head-a things up, though. Make-a da offer Michael Di Venuto cannot-a refuse.

Tasmania's list of Test players produced is not that large really though it is?

How many now, 2 or 3?

Max Walker, Charles Baddock (I think that is his first name) who played with Don Bradman were also Tasmanians.

There have been quite a few even though I cant really remember at this stage.

now 2 votes for nepal ???

in youth cricket, nepal has a good team and comparable to test sides like ind, pak and sl. at u-15/17/19 level, nepal are even better than bangladesh at present.

with a little more experience, nepal can do better and i think that the icc should try and do more for nepal. teams like india and pakistan should try and include a nepali team in anyof their domestic competitions.

nepal, have a great chance of even making it into the 2007 world cup. nepal have a decent player base and whats the good thing is that nepal have all players as nepalis. also, the fan base is growing and i think cricket is already the no.1 sport in nepal.

(anybody from nepal posting out here ???)

You mean as good as Bangladesh at age level?
No. i didnt mean that. i meant nepal is far better than bangladesh at age level. nepal u-19s stuffed bangladesh u-19s in the last u-19 wc in 2002 and also beat them in the u-15 asia cup later in the year. so thats 2 in 2 for nepal against bangladesh.

and now i think that after 4-5 years, nepal for sure will overtake bangladesh.
