New Zealand teams?

From what I have heard this 'James Mcmillan'
is meant to be the fastest bowler in New
Zealand. This was at the start of the season
though. He was playing Hawke Cup against
South Canterbury for North Otago. I think he
is one for the future!

I really don't think so.

Richard Hadlee said that Bond & Butler are the two quickest bowlers in the country. if McMillan was bowling 140 k's + he would be in the West Indies right now or at the training camp in Darwin.

When McMillan played for Otago against N.D, the commentators said nothing about his pace & im sure if he was bowling quick the commentators would have mentioned it. I recall Coney calling him an 'honest stock bowler'.

I take it you two haven't seen him bowl?

Yea I have seen him bowl but only at hawke cup
level earlier this year. It is quite hard to
tell his pace from the side lines. This doesn't
mean he should be over in the West Indies or
Dawin. Just because he is fast doesn't mean that
he is a great bowler. His line and Length needs
to be good aswell.
I don't have the proof of his pace but from what
I have heard he is talanted and fast.

He certainly had accuracy, but Im positive that he wasn't troubling any of the batsmen for pace and usually anyone who bowls above 140 k's will trouble a Kiwi batsman.

Maybe he's being confused with Michael Bates from Auckland? I know he's got a bit of pace on him.

Young master bates from auckland isn't at the academy. I was there last weekend, I know who I am talking about.

I thought you said that you were told by others that he was quick, not seen him yourself.

There is NO way James McMillan bowls 140 k's + with the kind of action he has.

I can imagine that he can bowl 140 k's in the nets, but unless someone can prove that he has bowled faster than that out on a cricket field im not going to believe it.

Okay and ive never heard of him on Radio Sport or any other disccusions

If this "James McMillan" bowled 140k's then he would have been the centre of attention on all topics and he would have been chosen to play for nz if he was that fast and that good ?

I heard all this at the start of the season
and it was on radio sport. This was probably
before Butler was discovered and also before
it was known how Bond bowled.

Well if so, then im pretty sure that McMillan would have been picked ahead of Butler because McMillan has had 2 seasons worth of first class.

Im not saying that McMillan is overated, when i saw him he had good accuracy and yes he did have good pace on him. But im afraid that if he was bowling 140 k's quick then I don't think we'd be talking about Butler in the West Indies right now.

Hadlee said Butler IS the 2nd fastest bowler in NZ behind Bond, if Butler does not reach the 140's then its end of story.

Do u really think Butler should be in the team. I think
there are other players who have proved just as good.
When Bond was injured it was alright but I don't think
we need two 140+ bowlers. Lance Hamilton and some other
bowlers have had better results this year

Butler is crap. He never deserved to be there, and he hasn't proved that he should have been picked, he isn't fast enough to be picked purely on pace, and he certainly isn't accurate. It is a shame that the real hard workers in the game haven't been rewarded- like Jo Yovich, i heard from one of his relatives that he is one of the fittest guys in nz- for anything- and that he doesn't drink or anything, total dedication to the game, and hes a good player too.
I heard that Ian Butler is an arrogant prick. Maybe thats why he gets on well with Richard hadlee- something in common.
