He's never coming back to the black caps. Their mind is made up about him as evidenced by the Neesham experiment so that we have other options.

Lol, I thought of you when I saw he scored a FC ton in the UK. Even if he did repeatably back away to square leg in his last test series with the bat :p

Taylor the skipper obv.

And in a non-troll combined side surely you gotta go with four quicks. Cook, Latham/Robson, Bell, Taylor, KW, Stokes/Neesham, Watling (or Prior if judging on career), Broad, Southee, Boult, Anderson

a lot of those possies depend on how you value runs against Australia and/or Sri Lanka v India and/or the West Indies.

If you're going with four specialist quicks then I don't think Stokes or Neesham really add enough with the ball to that attack to be selected ahead of McCullum. If you're going for an allrounder there it's got to be Moeen.

Boult's never getting thrown a new ball in that XI either, so Phlegm better be playing with the Duke.

In which case McCullum really would be considered a specialist captain, of old world English proportions.

Cameron Fletcher to join Canterbury Cricket

Current New Zealand Cricket Winter Training Squad member Cameron Fletcher has transferred to Canterbury Cricket for the 2014/2015 season. A former New Zealand Under 19 player, Cameron was contracted to Northern Districts last season but had limited opportunities with incumbent test keeper BJ Watling also in their team.

Aged 21 Fletcher has been identified by the New Zealand Cricket selectors as an international cricketer in the making with his inclusion in the New Zealand winter training contracted squad.

Canterbury Director of Cricket, Gary Stead is delighted to welcome Fletcher to Canterbury, “Cameron comes to Canterbury with some very good cricketing skills, a high work rate and a great enthusiasm for the game. He is a quality wicket keeper and will grow in his standing with regular opportunity and experiences. We are excited to see how he develops in our environment”

Good to see that Crachopa has been in pretty good form for the Sussex 2nd XI across all 3 formats, with scores of 77*, 1, 33, 95, 6 and 147.

Carl Cachopa's going back to Auckland and there's a distinct possibility Tarun Nethula will follow.

Probably wants a pitch where he can average 50 again. Nethula isn't too bad to lose. I'd rather play all four quicks and if we want a spinner then Ajaz Patel has been bowling better than Nethula.

Will Young better not become another plastic Cantab or we're boned. Can Greg Hay bat twice pls?

If Raval does return to CD then he needs to make his mind up about who he wants to play for.

How are Auckland going to fit their captain in the XI?

Guptill, Raval, Carlchopa, Craigchopa, Colin, Colin, Brachopa would be the full strength top seven wouldn't it? No room for Nicol. If they've pulled Nicol home at the expense of Raval then they're mad, because whether you rate Raval or not I think he's a better opener than Nicol who is 'just' a reasonable and solid domestic batsman most of the time.

Time to recruit O'Donnell and Weerasundara itbt. Get the pitches to play sort of like Lincoln's, and those two would make runs for the Stags.
