Q6. Did the player in question play Tests for Australia ? Yes.
Q7. Was the record made in a first class match in Australia ? Yes.

The record could be held by an individual or a team. For example Victoria still holds the highest ever first innings total record and it is just over 8 decades old and Victoria (this Victoria) is not an individual :D

Ponsford. 801 runs were scored while he was scoring 429 against against Tasmania in 1923.

Is it the record number of runs scored while a batsman was at the crease ?

Then it has to be Ponsford and he WAS playing for Victoria in that game !

When the answer to this becomes clear you can understand why the answer was yes !! Record number of runs scored while a batsman was at the crease can mean many things !! :) :)
