I must say I really like watching Martyn bat when he is in an agressive mood thats when he is at his best IMO batting like he did when he was young.
Yes but that was when he got dropped for throwing his wicket away. See why he plays differently now?Eclipse said:lol

He has got alot more beleve me he just does not use most of them any more. he is starting to bring the pull shot back into his game witch is good because he plays it well.age_master said:martyn does not have agressive moods anymore, hasn't for a few years now, thats why i dont like watching him, apart from that he only has about 3 shots, all behind square on the off side
yes NSW players generally are good but i have nothing against WA's, hell, my favourite players from the west, well these days he is anyway, Gilchrist, Godwin and Hussey are also good

I remember last year in South Africa he filcked a ball off his pads away for a big six of Nitini then later cracked one for six over cover a shot he still uses it was like the six he hit in the world cup.
I didn't say he was slow, although sometimes he does get bogged down. All I'm saying is that he has cut down the risks a la Steve Waugh, and he is benefitting from it. But being a natural back-foot player and playing most of his domestic cricket on the WACA, he will allways give a chance to gully. I did see him play a lot of shots when he was recalled to the Australian Test Side in England and he made that 100 at Edgebaston thoughEclipse said:No not entirley he changed his game alot after he was droped he used to be as explosive as gilly.
But when he first came back into the test & ODI team's he seemed to have found a medium between very agrressive and not recklesnes.
Look back to the last Ashes in England he was hardly slow at all back then that sort off aggresion is when he is playing his best.
His world cup knock was good as well.

I'd be very surprised if he did, bearing mind the number of games played back in the 30's and 40's and a certain Mr Bradman.
