both these men excelled on tough wickets, who was better on a pitch where 250 is a very good score? a very spicy wicket. Both men's reputation hinges on their ability to bat on tough wickets.

surprised to see De Villiers win this decisively, can think of far more great bad wicket classics via Harvey. He has plenty of the pretty fifties that De Villiers produce but he also has the ability to go big on tough wickets, his knock at Kingsmead or Melbourne against a raging Statham are some of the quessential bad wicket knocks. I'd prefer if reasons are given for De Villiers here.
