My NZ game...

I'm up to 2043. I'm currently ranked 2nd in ODIs and 3rd in Tests. I have never beaten India in a series ever. Has anyone else had such problems?

Also has anyone found that Australia turns to crap? Because currently they are last in everything. In both formats they have about 5 points from a possible 32. They have been like this for about 20 seasons.


Meanwhile in my most recent season I had two veterans call it quits. M Oldman has my highest score in tests with 283, scoring over 5000 runs in tests at an average of over 50. The other player was a pace bowler, who was to an extent a journeymen. I've never had a decent bowler since the likes of Cairns etc retired. He was the best I had. W Carver ended up playing 89 tests taking about 220 wickets at 40. He only played so many games because I had no one better. I've got 2 good spinners but on a whole I rely heavily on batting.

As far as allrounders go I had two awesome one about 20 seasons ago. But none even close to their skill level since.

Basically if my batsmen can't proform I nearly always lose..,.

Yes, the balance of power in the game shifts towards the sub-continent teams after a few years. This is definitely an annoying bug in the game, the spinners are too dominant in international level. I think managing australia, nz, south africa, and west indies are the toughest challenge in the game since they never have good spinners (especially australia). But atleast you have good batsmen, just pile up the stats mate!

Cairns was never much of a superstar for my New Zealand team.

Yes. I found when the real life players were still around that some players which have in the past been overlooked, were the stars of my side. For instance, Matthew Bell, Mathew Sinclair, Glen Sulzberger, Alex Tait all became important assets in my team. Bell held my highest test score for 30 seasons with an innings of 277 against Australia. Sulzberger still holds my best test figures with 8/110.

I have 2 spinners in my side. One is becoming really good. The other has always done well enough without being awesome. But I have a real problem with pace bowlers. Between 2015-2025 I had a really complete line up. With medium pacers, fast bowlers and the worlds best spinner. Now I'm way too reliant on my two spinners. I have no pace or medium bowlers in my side, that arwe of any skill. Maybe one will come soon. I'm worried.

Matt Bell was never much good in Tests for me. He was awesome in ODIs though.

I'm having the same problem as you re:bowling. Vettori is still there for what may be his last year, but the last decent seamer I had was Mills (superb batsman too). I got so desperate that I chucked a 19-year-old genuine fast bowler named Heath Luthor into Tests and ODIs and he's done fairly well. He avges around 28 in Tests and is either very ordinary or very good. In ODIs he's more consistent, with an avge of 21 and an economy of just under 4.

He's also scored a few runs of late, which is always good.
