symonds is crap ? !!!

he is one of the hardest hitters in the world and the guy can play any bowling..

Just that stupid aussie selectors are screwing him by tryin to invent him as a allrounder.

I hope he gets one more chance to impress....tht guy is real intimidation
I actually agree that Symonds is crap........as an allrounder!!! As a batsman, we're talking about one of the most naturally gifted players of his (or any) generation. If he doesn't get given another go but as a batsman, then I reckon he's lost after this coming season. Maybe he should have played for England after all. He could have played 50+ Tests by now.

Hardest hitter of the ball!! Afridi can hit the ball harder than most batters, does it make him superior batter?

Symonds ave 25+ with only 2 50's, so far he haven't done anything good, can't take him seriously.

One of those 50's came when he opened the batting once and the other was when he was batting at 4. Every other time in his career, he was batted at 7 because he bowled a bit. H'e barely been given a chance. In this instance, stats tell nothing of just how good a batsman he is. And I don't mean he's just a good hitter. He is actually a VERY talented batsman. That's what makes the difference between him and Afridi.

here is an clue : Instead of browsing on the net and checking out stats ...it would help if u would actually watch the match..

symonds has a good technique...can hit the ball harder than most...and he is no slogger. He doesnt have too many weaknesses. He ate county bowling for breakfast for some time befre deciding to come to australis..
Am i making myself clear here ?

No one give a damn what he did in county matches, ever cared to look at how good Law and other Aussies are doing at county level??

I have seen the player dummy, provided u with the stats so that something could go into ur hydrocephalic head.If Symonds is so good, then how come he's not even in the playing 14???

And yeah, Afridi destroyed bowlers in county matches too, though he's still crap.
Mark my words, Symonds would fade away in few yrs!

Oyesachin: First learn to use the quote button...

First off Stuart law is not a bad batsman. Just that aussie is packed with good players and he was unlucky.
He is much better then our Devang gandhis and Sujith somasundars..

For your second question abt why symonds is not in the playing 14..i have already answered it. But i forgot whom i am talkin to ...

so for your benefit i will say it again s-l-o-w-l-y..

First T_C's post again. Then watch the 2000 one day series in aus with india and pak.

Then go home and ask yourself if laxman was so good , if kaif was so good, if robin singh was so good how come they took so long to find a established place.

Well anyway dont bother asking urself...it would require a brain to answer it.

The answer is they didnt get to play to their strengths, didnt get proper support or a fair trial.

Hope this helps..if not get back to the cartoon..

There could be a multitude of reasons why that is the case and in my opinion, few of them have anything to do with form or talent.

Mark my words, Symonds would fade away in few yrs!
It's awfully difficult to show what you can do when you're not given a chance.

I think we're both just saying that for pure technique and magnitude of talent, Symonds is up there with the best. He's just not been given much of a chance.

Symonds won't be in the Aussie team for long, Watson is a much better player and will be the man they are looking for.

Whatever the reason, u gotta perform to be in the team, Symonds may have talent but didn't fared all that well. He's not good enough to play as an allrounder nor can he replace a specialists batter!

And this is part of the problem. Symonds was picked as an allrounder when he should have been picked as a specialist batsman. How would you feel if you were a specialist batsman throughout your entire career and when given your chance, you're told you're batting at 7 and will have to bowl a bit?

And yes is IS good enough to replace any of the specialist batsmen in the Aussie side. Big call I know but believe me, he really is as technically equipped as any Aussie batsman.

All he needs is a chance, which has not been given and hasn't been given any indication that he's likely to get one either.

He's ancephalic, thinks he's smart, just like most psycho does!

That player was unlucky, so and so did not get a fail trail..ah just get the hell out of here.

Kaif took long to establish himself in onedayers...sure he does.Geez!

T_C: Any body who has watched symonds play would know that the guy is class. I remember him punsishing Kumble and srinath. He is a good change bowler but by no means a allrounder.

But like flintoff came back i am sure he will get a chance when mark waugh is dumped. I am not so sure of watson. I guess he is not test class. Another harvey may be ?

Perko: what are you implying there? ;)

OyeSachin: Obviosly there is no point in discussing anything with u. Guess with your sports.com style posting you will never post anything useful and will just keeping picking personal fights..hmm..
so keep yapping away..

I guess with some guys there isn't any room for disagreement.Symonds is class?? can't agree with that.
Symonds was a talented batter while as a bowler he was crap, i have seen him and won't refer to his stats but can say that he won't make it to the test team.

As for Watson, he is likely to be a permanent member of onedayer squad!

You mean from the Test side? I doubt it now. I think the Aussie selectors are looking to give Lehmann that spot now. i think Symonds is going to end up like Stuart Law; a highly talented player who was just born at the wrong time! :D

Watch for Mike Clarke too; this guy can REALLY play.

I am not so sure of watson. I guess he is not test class. Another harvey may be ?
He's not Test class yet but give him time. He's easily the most talented allrounder int the country right now so as long as his bowling continues to develop, he'll come good. I don't think it'll be long. He's a very technically correct batsman but I think his biggest weakness right now is a tendency to step across his stumps, making him susceptible to LBW's. Plus, his footwork off the backfoot outside off-stump isn't great right now. As I said, it won't take long, though.

The only reason I've only picked ten players, is that the Australian team doesn't need a full team to kick the arses of any other team starting with the letter "Q" or "Z" or even "I".

I'll be quiet otherwise I'll be shot. :D

No wonder the 11 men were beaten by the Indians in tests series, destroyed by the Kiwis and later lost to Pak.

10 men ...LOL , Even with 12 men Aus an't beat India in India :D
