reason I've him over Spinners is I believe he is more threatening to the actual batters

Problem for me is that I have little confidence Ambrose will do well in the SC. That's too big a hole. No real sample in Ind and SL one good and one horrible series in Pak.

Half of his career he didn't have pace and wasn't particularly skilled at cutters or swing to succeed there.

Even if you count Bradman as two batsmen, bowling all rounders easily achieve the feat of equal impact.
Would disagree on that one.

I don't count Bradman as two batsmen, but the only bowling all rounder who would even come relatively close in primary skill, Hadlee, lacks the batting impact to even make a difference.

It sounds like something Kyear2 will say and get absolutely angry over on hearing; that some all-rounders can match Bradman.
I would not.

Please see above.

For me, and I repeat, for me.... For any player to even come close to Bradman, I would have to rank their primary skills at least in the absolute highest tier for said discipline. That already excludes all but Hadlee and Sobers. Hadlee's batting, in my opinion does nothing to fill that gap.

Some extended clips from the WI vs England '88 series and some subsequent ones found their way into my YouTube feed this week.

Before the surgery Ambrose was as good as anyone, and better than most. After the surgery, he may not have been destroying you, but he was taking wickets and you still couldn't hit him. Easily top 5 for me, and really close behind Steyn.

Ok.

I love how you're able to air your "views" with clear intent, but no one else is, unless they're "bitter".

Ambrose was the greatest ever in Australia and one of the best in England . Even after his surgery no one could hit him and he was still taking wickets.
Who else in the 90's was able to do what he did.
You opinions on what he couldn't have done, are just that.
