Obadele Thompson, gutted that you gave the time as I was going to impress everyone with that

Was wind-assisted and at altitude IIRC

Let me give a big hint by giving a tiny bio on the athlete concerned.

First individual Olympic medalist for his country
Now married to serial athlete shagger, former record holder and current drug cheat, Marion Jones
Ran 9.69 in 1996

EDIT- Just seen above post with correct answer. Good effort :)

Ah I think I get to do a question now

Probably an easy one, but hey, I'll personalise it...

The Oval Sports Centre Bebington (Wirral) has been host to many great sporting events, including yours truly's Personal Bests at 3000m and 5000m (my other PBs tended to come away from home tbh). Anyhow, which sporting event was replicated at the oval for a famous film?
Either the film name or event will do tbh

Interesting. What sports you are refering to. Track? swimming? cycling?

track...haha was never very good but used to train hard and enjoy it, was naturally more of a distance runner but when I stopped doing it I was mainly focusing on the 400 and 800, and basically in events used to just run whatever the team needed someone for, did the shot once as well

Oh and was that an educated guess Brumby? Good effort anyway, :)
Yeah, no Googling involved, I swear.

Chariots is probably out on its own when it comes to famous British athletics films, so took a stab. had you asked "which stadium in Plastic Scouseland was Chariots of Fire filmed at?" I'd have struggled...

EDIT: Now I think of it, isn't Colin Welland from your part of the world?

St. Helens. steds would possibly take issue at that being labelled my part of the world, it is the same county under the modern boundaries though :p
