Move over Gillchrist....

The only moving over Gilly should be doing is to protect the slip cordon from his farts.

I dont care if Dhoni turns out greater than Bradman.... as far as ODIs go,i WILL NOT compare an upstart newbie with an established veteran until he plays ATLEAST 100 or so matches in the modern context.
exactly, its far to early to start saying that dhoni is better than many of the other keepers in the world let alone gilchrist at this stage of his career, all it will take will be about 8 innings where he fails to make above 10 in a row and he will be sacked and long forgotten, joining patel and karthik on the scrap heap.

Anyway Dhoni did well in his thrird match of the series, three consecutive good figures.Keep it up !

Who is a bigger legend, Pathan or Dhoni?

I think it would be better to wait and see how Dhoni does outside the sub-continent before anyone makes any conclusions....

There is no question about Dhoni, he seems to be very talented and can go places.Interestingly India have been struggling to find a decent wk/bat since a long time.Dhoni might solve their problem.

BTW, who/what is IKP ???

You have to ask their nephews and the kids in their neighbourhoods because thats the only place where they might be anything close to being legends. :p

Your sarcasm is misplaced by the way.

yes your right, lets compare him to courtney browne instead :p its rather obvious to me that browne is the superior in every aspect of the game.

Whatever it takes!!!
Frankly, I don't know why all this fuss is happening about Dhoni. The guy plays one good knock and then plays an okay knock and a few bad ones and he is 'suddenly' the answer to all our problems. He has shown the tendency to drive the ball on the up, off either foot and struggled ever since the Pak pacers started bowling short of length to him. His 47 off 64 balls wasn't a great inning at all.... Dravid could have played that sort of a knock. The purpose of sending him at 3 was to get quick runs and he didn't do that in that match. It would have made better sense to have him at no.7 regularly and only send him up at 3 on the odd occassions... I still think he is the best guy to keep for India in ODIs, but I am already seeing that he has more than a few flaws in his technique and I am not really positive about that guy.

well said GladiatorsInBlue:)

also, :@ to c that some indians made fun of dhoni in this thread saying that he can never be better than gilchrist. i have cn these forums and the standard of indian support by most of the indian posters is very poor. they just dont know how to appreciate a new and upcoming indian player and dont even seem to know the facts about indian players.

guys, whether u like it or not, but dhoni is better than gilchrist. even these stats show it -

Unfortunately your stats do not prove much, considering that Dhoni has only played 20 odd test matches. Remember that Dhoni is also a keeper, not just a batsman with gloves on, but his catching and stumping statistics are below Gilchrists (Gilchrist has caught more than double Dhoni in the last year). It seems to me that you are judging a keeper on his batting alone.

One-dayers - not test matches.
