Andrew Flintoff, although that was helped by us getting to know him better on that Celebrity Jungle show and his aussie commentary gigs.

Ali TT

International Vice-Captain
He was playing in a white ball final where I had been appointed as umpire. He appreciated the job I did, bought me a beer and had a chat away from other players. A delightful encounter.
I might add, I admired his batting in the game.
Was my favourite player as a kid getting into cricket so appreciate this anecdote, thanks!

Stuart Broad was a bit of a nob at times when playing but comes across well in his new commentary/celebrity life.

International 12th Man
The Phantom. Chris Martin. I always felt a sense of serenity and warmth whenever he came out to bat. Life was going to be ok.

Fantastic bowler, utter **** batter. But he owns it.

He played in the Black Clash on the weekend and looked like he hadn't aged a day. Batted like it too - bowled for a golden duck by a rugby player.

Great call, magic bloke.

I tell this story too much but I once saw him drop a catch at fine leg of a domestic 50-over game because he was distracted by eating a banana.

Can only think of a few off the top of my head.

Sulieman Benn, Runako Morton, Navjot Sidhu. All seemed terrific fellas. From Australia, obviously Ponting, McGrath, Hayden and Langer are all terrific and likeable blokes .
