Most Controversial Moments in Cricket History?

Good call. Was there some wider context or incredible amount of pressure on Australia in that match? Because it just seems inexplicable that Chappell would act like a ****head like that and refuse to walk for an otherwise undisputed catch (I get he was an arrogant prick, but that is beyond bad) then order his brother to participate in such an unnecessary act.

Chappell has spoken in the years since about the mental exhaustion he was experiencing at the time, which was impacting his judgement. He has said since that, looking back, he wasn't mentally fit to play in this match and shouldn't have done so.

Whilst not up there with underarm, there was a match in November 1979 which caused a rule change in ODIs. This was a tri-series involving Australia, WI and England. WI needed 3 runs off the final delivery to beat England, so Brearley put all of this fielders, including the WK Bairstow, on the boundary. Due to this, the fielding restrictions were introduced a year or so later.
