Whilst the champion of a sport is more determined by the finances of a team than the ability of the driver, F1 will never really hold my interest. When any given driver can win, that's a contest. When the person with the best car is the one who wins, well, how can anyone call that a race?

Careful mate. With that kinda thinking, you end up with NASCAR. Where it is liteally the same equipment and just straight-out slug fests.
Part of the challenge in F1 is to see drivers play to their car's strength/weakness. Though i do agree on the basic point that F1 has become way too elitist. Gone are the days where all you needed were a few brilliant and dedicated people to make you competetive. Its all about the millions of dollars today. There is simply too much of a gap between the top and bottom teams today and even though it has happened in the past before, its not like it was the central theme of F1.

Infact, ironically, my interest in F1 stems less from the 'racing' perspective and more from the technological perspective.
I really like the idea of a car that can exert more downforce than its weight (think on this for a minute and how this could lead to a hella lotta fun! )

9 grandlams, 3 consecutve US Opens and 4 consecutive wimbledons at the age of 25. I think that alows him to rank alongside the best of our generation especialy when you conisder the amazing style in which he plays.

It's still too early i think for Federer. Although at the rate he's going, give it probably 2 years and it'll be without question as he'll start surpassing some all time figures. Sampras and Agassi have been the two major forces in men's Tennis in my time and unquestionably so.

That is something that sets Agassi apart from pretty much every other player in the modern era. If Federer wins the French open then he should definetly be equal with the vert best of all time.

Aha. Lost 7-6 to the bloke he beat 7-0 in the 01 final. Would have put "losing finalist in 94 and 03" but that counts for nothing. He's been in every single PDC final, though.

An excellent driver no doubt... but if for one won't be to dissappointed to see him leave... it gives Mark Webber a bit more of chance to stand atop of the podium (despite the fact that his car will most likely blow up 2 our of every 3 races )
