I like his blunt attitude, which reminds me of Geoffrey Boycott. It's also interesting to know that he thinks that you have to born a fast bowler rather than becoming one, which counts me out :(

He should have been commentating at the WC. Gladly replace 4 or 5 dreary commentators and have him there tbh.

that is just an opinion. There have been bowlers who had come in as medium pacers and then over time through hard work became genuinely quick.

"I think I came up against better batsmen than Sehwag ever can be. I think people like Majid Khan, Javed Miandad, Zaheer Abbas. I have gone up against better batsman than Sehwag. Sehwag hammers the ball all around, though his technique is a bit ordinary," Holding said.

Holding said if he was bowling to Sehwag, he would never give him room outside the off-stump.

"He loves the ball outside his off stump. If I was to bowl at Sehwag, he would not see a ball outside his off stump unless he was sleeping and dreaming.

"You would see every ball in line with his body and that is how you've got to bowl to Sehwag. Don't give him room outside his off-stump for him to extend those arms and we'll see how he scores. I am not saying that he will not score runs at all but he certainly won't score as fluently as he is scoring now," the legendary pacer, who has 249 wickets from 60 Tests and 142 from 102 ODIs, said.
Interesting.

Haha, there was another interview on PakPassion of a former cricketer (I forgot who), but he blatantly listed reasons such as genes, meat consumption, etc. as reasons for why India doesn't produce fast bowlers like Pakistan IIRC. Which seem to be a lot of the reasons listed in the past by PakPassion members on the forum.

Just kind of makes you wonder about these interviews :p

Gee and so many fans have a go at Lillee, at least he bothered to play in the SC a bit!
Umm what ? Holding played 6 tests in India and took 30 wickets. Unlike Lillee who played 3 tests in Pak and took 3 wickets.

Holding also doesn't rate Gavaskar very highly, thinking of him as a bit of a flat track bully.

Very interesting person to listen to.

I doubt it. Here is Holding in an Interview :-

Best batsmen bowled at: It would depend a lot on the conditions. There were so many good players: Geoffrey Boycott, Sunil Gavaskar, the two Chappell brothers Greg and Ian, and it took different circumstances to get them out. On a flat pitch, Gavaskar seemed immoveable.

Yes, he says repeatedly that on a pitch that assisted bowlers, he wasn't very hard. How Amarnath was better even in the Indian team when the ball did things. Calls Gavaskar a 'fair weather batsman'.
