LOL, followed the link and there's a whole support forum there where they see that article as some sort of dogma. If any women post on there they get shouted down as trollsThe press on this is getting predictably worse. Now we're getting the push-back to Clarke's side. Instead of writing about leaving his team in the lurch mid-tour for hat is essentially a domestic dispute, because Clarke is seeing a lawyer, now we're reading she's the slutty temptress after his mazillions with Clarke the clean-cut altar boy being led astray, old-school boys like Dermie Brereton helping to stoke the fire on radio.
It's fun to watch it all go down at least.
EDIT: That Don't Marry site is hilariously awful. Seriously thought it was a piss-take. Still not sure......
Yeah, there is a lot of crap (and misogyny) in there, but I did find some reasonably insightful pieces about marriages and relationships with less than honourable American women (i.e - I did read an article about a guy who was stabbed by his wife and another about a man who had to flee his country because he was quickly rendered insolvent after his wife divorced him whilst he was on a business trip and quickly hooked up with another man). Divorce rates are very high in America (as they are here), so these stories may not be uncommon.EDIT: That Don't Marry site is hilariously awful. Seriously thought it was a piss-take. Well, some of them do troll on those forums and look (successfully) for a response. Others are just criticised (not always seen as trolls, as such).LOL, followed the link and there's a whole support forum there where they see that article as some sort of dogma. Hmmm. Must say I think it's a crock of **** personally.Don’t Marry
Saddening, but true.
BTW, I posted this on another forum with no apparent problems, so I didn't mean any malice by posting it here.
The front article is all chaff. Seriously. Someone looking actually looking to provide info/warnings/education would cite some legislation or actual documented case studies or have some semblence of reality about it. For example, any family lawyer will tell you, for financial purposes, whether you have a ring on your finger or not doesn't affect the split of assets (why do you reckon Clarke's seeing a lawyer?). That these men are getting screwed or feel like it has nothing to do with whether they're married or not.Well, some of them do troll on those forums and look (successfully) for a response. From what I did read, the trolls tend to use racist rhetoric to describe foreigners ("submissive, slutty Asian brides" was one common theme), which is obviously a big no-no.
Like I said, separate the wheat from the chaff.
It also reminds me of that joke about watching your wedding video backwards if you need cheering up - you'll love the end bit where you take off the ring, walk back out the aisle, jump into the car with your mates and **** off.The front article is all chaff. The only place you'll find bigger ****ing idiots than those who make comments (generally) in the papers is on YouTube. It does depend on the quality of the paper though. The replies to Daily Telegraph articles are generally a total farce. No, but they're very rare, even from more biased or crappier posters. I don't even think that someone like bond21 used such an intellectually dishonest argument when talking about players Test performances (yeah, if you exclude hundreds and not outs, a players average does tend to go down ) and it's not like anyone gives a **** about 20/20 anyway. Wally must also be dyslexic because Clarke has not been averaging 27 in ODI cricket.
I have seen these kinds of posts in other forums, but not on CricketWeb.
Maybe we should be grateful that Wally can spell his own name, though. Posts like the above make me doubt that he can do much more.
An Age reporter asked her informally about it when the rumours were first doing the rounds. She said to him, "Why would I be with him, he's married with kids?"Clarke has announced that he and Bingle have ended their engagement. Always sad when a couple who appeared to be love break up, but if what's been reported about the extent to which Bingle went back on what they'd previously agreed is true AND if Brereton's revelation that he'd personally told Bingle that Fevola was married came as news to Clarke, understandable.
Makes more understandable as well the decision to come home. 'Fiancee having a week from hell and needing a shoulder to cry on' is not in the same category as 'relationship with fiancee falling apart'.
Hope it's onwards and upwards for Clarke from here.
Agree, definitely newsworthy. He's got rid of his liability. The broadsheet did become a bit tabloid this week, then again with him destined to become the next captain and leaving a tour to sort out a sordid private life it was newsworthy to some extent.
Pretty poor form, you can't just take photos of someone, especially after they've specifically told you not to and then you go and say that you've done nothing wrong? FFS."We couldn't believe that he was even there but my friend went up and asked him if she could take his photograph," an unnamed source told the newspaper.
When Clarke refused the woman took the photo anyway and the cricketer yelled across the room for her to delete it.
"It got quite heated and the guy with Clarke said he was going to have us thrown out, but we'd done nothing wrong and there was no way my friend was going to hand over the camera or delete the photo," the Daily Telegraph quoted the woman's friend as saying.
