He's made the right decision, he's not half the bowler he used to be, especially on flat wickets.
He averages 28 this year, which is significantly below his usual best. But if you can average 28 without being half the bowler you once were, then he must have blown Barnes, Marshall and Co. out of the water when he's at his best.

Welcome to the club, mate.

Would be a shame if McGrath got belted around in the WC, if I were him, then I'd retire at the SCG after this Ashes, on a high note.
McGrath may or may not take many wickets, but hard to see him getting 'belted'. His style of bowling just precludes that happening for any length of time. At worst, he'll keep it tight for you. At best, he'll keep it tight and run through you.

When you get a great improviser like Pietersen or Lara, then he can be taken to pieces, all though it happens very rarely.

Though he is clearly bowling below his best, and I am incredibly joyful that he's calling it quits on his own terms, and before he screws up his stats. Fifty years from now, I'll be telling young whippersnappers to shut up and look at McGrath and his greatness. Will never be another quite like him.

McGrath's got the wood on Lara. Pieterson has been doing well against him, but he's hardly faced him at his best this year.

Unless there's someone who can bowl with his accuracy but at 90mph
When you find someone like that, I'd like to meet him, cause he's going to average <10 bowling in tests..seriously. That would be the perfect bowler. His bounce and accuracy with 90+mph pace? It would be insane.

I have no doubt that you'll still be boring the pants of people fifty years from now.

I can imagine an old, withering SS sitting with children gathered around him, telling them how Glenn McGrath could hit a 1P piece on the pitch every time and when he bowled to Tendul.........................

Unplayable.
Yea, he would be. Batsman are confused already with McGrath regarding whether to play his deliveries or not. Add frightening pace and you could seriously have a bowler that would unequivocally be the bowling equal of Bradman.

Yeah we don't all get what we want.

I mean there are plenty of nice looking woman out there but I'm at thousands already to have any chance
Living on the Gold Coast Craig, I suggest you watch a couple of episodes of the OC before spending a fortune on flammable hair products and a membership to the gym...then learn how to act like a complete knob and I'd say your stocks will rise considerably with the GC ladies!

Considering the number of times he has gotten Lara out, I think being a great improviser comes with significant risks. The number of chances Pietersen has given early in an innings against Australia in the last two series point to this...funnily enough, he's been dropped a bit (where's Richard!?)

Whatever it takes!!!
well, thankfully my avatar doesn't look out of its place. I did fear I had been a little hasty with my tribute to the icons. Well, what can one say? One of the greatest ever. His effect will be no less telling than Warney's, simply because he just creates so much pressure on the batsmen.

*goes to start Official Glenn McGrath tribute thread*

Or, should I wait till end of WC? advise, plz.
