Lancashire and Colts played a home and away 4 Day series using randomised teams. Each side won at home:
Colts v Lancashire (at Colts)
Lancashire batted first and were rolled for 170 with J.Modanagopal (61) and C.Schofield (49) providing the only resistance of note.
D.Liyanage was a standout performer with the ball for the home side taking 6/46.
In reply, Colts amassed an impressive total of 485 to really heap the pressure on the Division 1 visitors.
D.Kenway (141), S.Katich (99) and W.Anderson (81) all displayed impressive form while C.Schofield was the pick of the Lancashire bowlers with 5/86.
The visitors put up a sterner batting effort in their second innings in getting through to 352.
M.Ramprakash (119), J.Modanagopal (70), M.Pushpakumara (57no), A.Dale (42) and A.Swann (30) all showed some pluck in the fightback while A.Noffke with 4/85 and D.Liyanage with 3/52 were the most successful Colts bowlers.
Requiring only 43 runs for victory, the Colts openers D.Kenway and S.Katich got through to the target without loss to see the Colts claim a Division 1 scalp in impressive fashion.

Lancashire batted first in the return match, but could only amass a modest 272.
M.Beerala (67), K.Baumgarner (56), M.Pushpakumara (43), R.Dravid (34) and J.Modanagopal (33) all got starts without going on to big scores.
Of the visiting Colts bowlers, D.Liyanage with 3/23 and R.Pawar with 3/74 stood out.
Colts replied with 263 to set up an interesting second half to the match.
D.Kenway (89), S.Sharath (42) and Y.Singh (41) batted well for the visitors while M.Smethurst (4/83) and P.Mhambrey (3/41) were the best of the Lancashire bowlers.
When the home side crumbled to be all out for 160 in their second innings, it looked as though Colts might do the double over their Division 1 opponents.
R.Dravid (68) held the innings together whilst partners regularly fell at the other end.
A.Noffke with 3/42 was the most successful Colts bowler this time round.
Chasing a modest 170 for victory, the Colts found batting tough as the home attack bowled out of their skins. In submitting for a lowly 138, the visitors fell 31 runs short and the series finished square.
None of the Colts batsmen reached 30 as M.Pushpakumara (4/22) and allrounder A.Barnes (3/14) did the damage with the ball.
Lancashire beat Colts by 31 runs.
