Mark Cosgrove turned his back on Australia.

International Captain
their was talk a few weeks ago he would move interstate which he may well do.
But as it stands he would play the aussie season as an overseas player, similar to darren pattinson.
I gather he would have to spend 4 years qualifying for england tho, same case as sam robson for middlsex i think.
If not it would be 2 years, since he played against bangladesh 2 years ago.
Don't see him getting any games for the edbacks bar injury this r=year, batsmen all firing.
Cosgrove will play the whole year for glamorgan if he signs.
Still doubts whether glamorgan will have a replacement player for hershelle gibbs who will be playing from july to september.

What a stupid time to leave Australia, now that we are entering a rebuilding phase.

Nonetheless, I think his talent will always be undermined by his pathetic discipline and woeful fitness. Will probably thrive in the icy English conditions... certainly the temperatures won't be an issue.

TBF it's not irrevocable. Both Jaques and Symonds have previously played over here as non-overseas players before the call to the colours.

No big deal this, and Australia are much better off without a big whiner like him, he might go wherever he wants but with an attitude like his' i would be surprised even if turns out to be a decent FC cricketer.

What a BIG loss to Aussies
that's a great line

Problem for Cosgrove is that its been on his stints to England where his weight has ballooned from Boon to Leverock proportions, and his months in Aus where he's lost most of the pie, fry-up and lager pounds just in time to go back and put them on again. If he's there full time, he'll be found dead on a toilet within three years.

Mark Cosgrove, not the best signing Glamorgan will ever make.

Seems a Jesse Ryder of Australia. Hmm, where've I heard that before...?
