I think he is more concerned about staying not out these days.
If he cut out risky shots from his batting, there is nothing wrong.

That was the case in his evolution from 89-94 to 98-2003 Tendulkar as well. He played far more shots in 89-94 than he did in 98/99 period. Did manage more runs in 98/99 and the like.

Is scoring the bigger runs (last 5 years have seen all his double centuries) and if he i consistent, which I believe he will be in the future, will score many more.

BTW

Has any other batsman ever made 3 double centuries in 1 year? (Considering 194* a double)
Ponting made 3 in 2003 and Bradman also made 3 in 1930 there are probably more aswell

Australia (admittedly without McGrath and Warne, but still) and Pakistan are clearly as bad as Bangladesh aren't they?! 8-)
and i said that didnt i?
anyone would admit that all 3 bowling attacks were considerably weak(again not equally weak which you seem to assume), and both of those scores came on the flattest of wickets.

An attack containing the likes of Kaspa and Gillespie is not 'considerably weak'.
which is all fine and good except that kaspa wasnt part of that attack....
and gillespie wasnt fully fit.

Erm.. in the series last year in Australia? Alright then, I'll assume I'm mistaken, can't be bothered to check.

yes, the bowling attack in that game included b.lee, williams, macgill and half fit gillespie. in fact there can be question marks as to whether lee himself was fit, but personally fit or not he doesnt amount to much.

Kasporwcz was available and Australia chose to go with Lee.

and is that the first time that the aussie selectors have made a stupid selection? picking lee is understandable, picking bracken and williams ahead of kaspa was ludicrous.

Well it seems like it's going to happen again imminently (may not, but at present looks likely).
There must be some reason for it... mustn't there...????

I dont find Akhtar, Shabbir/Gul (depends who was playing that game, I can't remember to be honest) Sami and Kaneria all that bad to be honest. Sami maybe, but the rest are pretty good!
Shabbir.
He had one of his rare bad games, though (31-122-0).
Kaneria didn't play that game, though - Saqlain did, and IMO Kaneria is the better bowler on pitches such as the one in that game.
Pakistan's attack wasn't especially good in that match, but it certainly was considerably better than Bangladesh's.

Yet when I've mentioned that Chopra not doing too badly against them wasn't that much of an achievement...
(I'm gonna regret saying that I bet)

I'd still take Saqlain's better-disguised variety on big-turning surfaces.
His Doosra is better than Kaneria's Googly.
Of course, on a turner I'd play them both, but on a pitch on which Saqlain can't turn it dangerously I'd prefer Kaneria only.

oh yes of course and when i say that the attack was weak i infact mean that they were just as good as the attacks das faced- blignaut, mbangwa, mortaza, olonga and the like.
