Out of all International-bowlers Malinga looks one of the least obvious chuckers to me. Flingers of the ball generally keep a straighter arm than those with conventional actions.

Round-arm is just very rare these days which is why it looks so odd, it was quite prevalent in cricket's formative years.

So a strange looking action yes, but not chucking.

Nah, i don't think Malinga chucks it, your allowed to have a roundarm action as logn as on release your bowling hand is above your shoulder.

Everyone chucks it except Sarwan. Malinga doesn't chuck it at all. In fact he has one of the cleanest actions in the game, as do most Roundarm actions. Perera chucks it.

Malinga has a pretty clean action for a round-arm bowler, I don't have many doubts about it personally.

That's just not true.

Everyone chucks the ball to some degree or another. I think ICC did some research work on this during the last CT and found Sarwan to be the only one who didn't chuck. These findings followed the change in the chucking law.

I bet Malinga is very tricky to face because his point of release is more-or-less in front of the umpire's chest. It must make picking the ball up rather difficult. I'm also staggered that he's as accurate as he is too.

I've never faced anyone remotely as round armed in a game, but one of our batters (hi Chris) who occasionally turns his arm over in the nets is pretty round armed. He also, almost invariably, chucks it down the leg side.

No no, I use to be able to get 120-125 but I hurt my shoulder/knee so now I only bowl part time.
