I thought it was a great idea guys, don't be discouraged in trying to introduce it further on down the track. I especially feel sorry for all those (especially marc) who put all that effort into the system for it to eventually be not used. But, the majority rules, I guess.

I've heard how you were "convincing" people, or trying to and it wouldn't surprise me if it were a similar method to that you "convince" people to trade with you (usually the newer managers there)

well i will be one to say i am sorry to see the finance system chucked away, was looking forward to a bit of strategic planning each season however due to not being able to keep every manager happy, which happens more often than not these days, i am dissapointed that it has been scrapped, anyway.................its always the same managers that give there opinion and thats fine but this was going to work, but know i guess w ewill never now.......it gave a new dimension to the game, not that i am questioning the boards decision, it just feels that certain managers kick up a stink and they get there own way, anyway, its a crucial part of the season and managers need to focus on the job at hand so good luck, marc you want any help implementing a new finance system or tweaking the current on eto slot in with all managers mate let me know, and to as the 17th man its a good idea......

I agree with all of that. I was liking the whole strategic planning coming into the game and it left me in a bloody good position. I'm not the ideal to give my opinion on this but I'm sorry to see it go and the draft would be a lot better for the finance system IMO. I agree with the decision made as it was the only way to go but really think people should have at least given it a go, and afterwards when everything was sorted out and next season well underway a proper analysis of the system should have gone ahead.

I can't really comment on the simplicity of the game as I don't really know the game before this mess but I really do feel sorry for Marc.

The best thing that's come out of all this is this thread. It's great to see so many opinions and people talking passionately about their game and the best way for it to run

Perhaps one reason he didn't take it to you was because you'd just brush him aside like you have so many others when queried for more info on the finance system. Time and time again have questions been asked of your very "vague" finance system, and no explanation was forthcoming.

Any suggestions of Cloete "convincing" people are ludicrous. I was simply asked. Cloete can do what he wants when he trades, and that includes convincing people. At the end of the day they are going to be fair to both parties because we have implemented the board approval on all trades. Any attempts to rubbish Cloete's trading or team building skills are worthless.

i agree.

marc, stop lying and fabricating the truth. cloete never tried to convince anyone. your system was obviously flawed. from what i've gathered your conduct in this whole affair has lacked tact and you've really shown no one any respect. personally attacking cloete when he has always stuck to the rules set out in wcc is also disappointing.

The BIG issue here is nothing was that when Marc was asked by Simon to have a discussion about the Finance System and try and sort some issues out, He didnt want a bar of it..

Now AFAIC Simon is the Boss, he has the RIGHT to know what the go is, and the right to ask and change anything about the finance system..
If the attitude when the boss asks something is to brush them, then what hope is there...
(Afterall even i am unaware of the formula's and certain other things)..

Like i said before i was excited about the finance system and was looking forward to the challenge of working my team around money.. BUT in the long run i have to keep people happy and when im unable to answer questions which are being asked of me then something must be done...

If things are kept secret and people are kept in the dark it doesn't make it easy for people to accept. The system should have been transparent, due to it being the first time it was implemented.

It was a good idea.. and i wouldnt have minded it on an experiment on the academy sides or something selective like that so we could see it for a season or so.. but the realistic thing is that i would have been happy for one month.. but then slowly get bored because ive got to keep a whole track of things and the finance system however simple it was being implemented for the common folk.. just seemed to go a lot deeper than that.. and the main reason for WCC remaining so good and for so many years is its simplicity.. its like playing ICC2002 minus the graphics but with other real life people.. ( im comparing the simplicity and enjoyment here not the finance part)
And i also like the idea for the 17 man squad but as someone had said before.. i think an opportunity should be given to extended the squad to max 11 atleast.
I know by doing this that teams will hold some strong advantage over the others.. yes they will on paper.. but results have varied as seen season by season.. and now the tighter control on super rookies etc things will slowly even out too with the competition getting even more fierce, managers sticking in long term with a club and having strong future prospects for their club already panned out.

we havent ruled out letting people keep 11 players in future, if everyone read the first post carefully u will notice i said this is how the change will be implement for this season only, theres every chance we will allow a change to this rule next season...
