I hate them too. I am also wondering why the freakin Phils can't hit in the big moments and why they are even behind the Braves in the first damn thing. I know the Braves are good this year yes but the Phils are playing like crap, and have been all season (except for August, although we lost 4 straight to the damn Astros). What a joke.

Howard's worth it. The hitting on paper is great but it's not translating for some reason. If anything the only weak part of the Phillies team now is the relief pitching, but they're playing like they have a whole bucket ton of problems.Lolol, I just remembered that huge contract extension the Phillies gave Howard doesn't kick in until 2013. To be eligible to play in the post season you have to be on the teams roster by the 31st of August.

He might be worth $25m a year at the mo, but the chances of him being worth anywhere near that when he's 37-38 or whatever are pretty remote.
Not really related, but he's been pretty dismal since coming back off the DL too, might it have been too soon, even if Sweeney can't hit a lick anymore?
