So Darryl decided to go for a quick run to the shop to buy some celery.

 

[_Ed_]

On the way, he was crossing a road and found a hedgehog that had oddly fallen asleep in the middle of the road and so far avoided being run over, so he picked it up and put it in a safe spot on the other side of the road.

 

[Linda]

After depositing the hedgehog successfully, he noticed a rather lovely button sitting in between two tufts of grass.

 

[_Ed_]

He liked that button a lot and decided to wear it, but unfortunately it attracted some unwelcome attention from some strange individuals.

 

[Linda]

Most worrying of all was the frightening choice of pet by this strange individual.. Darryl soon found out just how fast sheep can run.

 

[_Ed_]

The sheep enjoyed its food, and as a result left some rather sizeable droppings. Then along came a bloke, who after watching Rove's interview with Steve Waugh, was inspired to play soccer with animal poo.

 

[Linda]

Steve thought that was quite humorous and thus had a little chuckle.

 

[_Ed_]

And Darryl laughed too, the hardest laugh he'd had since that clown fell over during the circus and caused all sorts of mayhem.

[Linda]

But now was not the time to be thinking of amusing events of his childhood... there was celery to be purchased!
Darryl continued to run.

 

[_Ed_]

He was so focussed on getting that celery that he completely ignored a series of tempting things, too many to be there coincidentally, on the sides of the pavement. Someone didn't want Darryl to buy celery. But Darryl had his priorities right. But look what he ignored!

 

[Linda]

After flying past the Cadbury Milk Tray, Darryl noticed a blue van heading towards him at a curiously low speed. As it came closer, he realised that it was another tempting treat. But luckily, Darryl has strong willpower and gave a firm "No thanks".

 

[_Ed_]

There was one thing he couldn't resist though, an umbrella. He took it, put it up and continued walking. It was odd since it wasn't raining, but it proved a good idea as a roast chicken fell from the sky and bounced off the umbrella. If he hadn't had the umbrella, who knows what could have happened?

 

[Linda]

But now was not the time to be thinking of chickens, however tasty the one that had fallen looked (I wonder what type of seasoning that is, Darryl thought).
The elusive celery entered his thoughts again, and he began to dream up ways of presenting the celery to his friends.
