Oh Shady you dog, that reminds me of the time I saw famed guy Sam Robson get castled at Lords in an FC match in 2014 after all that talk here about how his stumps were a gaping anus of a target.

Those post-Ashes England rebuild days were something. Some might say it hasn't stopped.

This thread has longs since been derailed and I can't be arsed to read it all or even be sure what it's actually about.
But England selected Mal Loye in his mid 30's for an ODI series in Australia and the commentators (on English radio, not sure about Australian TV) were salivating after he slog swept Brett Lee for 6 early on. It was all down hill from there but he was a real HE-man in that moment.

Mal Loye was my favourite cricketer for like two months during that summer. He didn’t really do anything other than play that shot half a dozen times but I couldn’t believe someone had done that to Brett Lee.

Yeah I remember that too. McGrath got him out like next ball with a bouncer iirc.

He put Mitchell Johnson out of the ground too, this one was huge. Someone earlier was talking about the definition of a guy, well I think Mal Loye might be a pretty good answer
