I think Simon Katich is angling for Taylor's spot with his media comments this week about players doing their time.

Steve Waugh has had a bit of press recently so I wouldn't rule him out either.

Given Peever lost the support of the NSW board I'd suggest it'll be someone involved with NSW that will replace at least one of the two.

First of, I love woman. My wife, mum, twin sister etc are all great..

But I just feel like this motto (compete, smile, fight, dream with us) makes more sense for our Ladies cricket team. Even the southern stars has a dream element to the name.

Its just not inspiring in the slightless given the woeful form, sandpaper gate etc of the mens team.

Don't see why it's amazing. I specifically said the Australia cricket team and drug use, domestic problems and general idiocy isn't unique to the australian cricket team, but pinning someone against the wall over a team song is and is a pretty good example of how dumb and arrogant they got.


and you know what, simon katich somehow not being the bad guy in that story is an indictment on the fans and I've been meaning to say this for awhile and it's pretty **** that the fans seem to have escaped any attention in this moment of navel gazing. i remember after the 2010-11 ashes, all the **** the players got for being overpaid. fast forward 7 years and everyone is saying it was a bad idea to have linked payment with success like we did, but there's little acknowledgement that basically CA did what many fans were saying

I'd have to check my references, but I think the game had been over for something like 4 hours by the point it kicked off, and Katich wasn't even the 'conductor' of the team song.

although it is fun to picture what will happen if a board meeting runs several hours overtime and someone moves to adjourn it...

You obviously missed the point of what transpired. It's about knowing your role in a team as a junior player notwithstanding you've been anointed "Future Australian Captain" without really earning it.

At that point Clarke had played like double the tests Katich had, and Katich had only re-entered the team like seven months prior to the incident...?

And also "junior player" vs "senior player" nonsense is a sign of a bad culture as it can very easily lead to bullying and even violent actions like pinning someone against the wall because of the team song

And so if Taylor's replacement is indeed a former NSW player, I don't see how Katich gets it over Stuart Clark and Alex Blackwell

Clarke trying to tell the senior guys when to sing the team song is pretty pushy and annoying anyways. I am not surprised they chose to troll him after that, and for him to snap and overreact in that manner does reflect pretty poorly on him.

But i'm sure there is more stuff behind all this. Straw that broke the camels back and all that.
