Lara took more than twice as many catches per Test, compared to Tendulkar. I won't argue you can simply judge the fielding capacity of a player by number of catches, but more than twice as many...., that seals it, not?

not really. How many of the bowler's in Tendulkar's team were producing catches for the fieldsmen? Nowhere near as many as Curtly and Courtney were producing for WI

Dravid was the primary slip fielder. Tendulkar wasn't. He was pretty quick and committed himself in the field a bit more than Lara, probably and had a great throwing arm pre injury. Lara was simply a better slipper, overall both good

Dravid took plenty but he was always in the slips where he gobbled up virtually anything catchable. Tendulkar fielded in a variety of positions. It's obvious he'd have less catches than a regular slip fielder
