Kohli vs De Villiers, who was better against high quality bowling?

Who was the better batsman against high quality bowling in tough batting conditions?

I misread the title. I thought you were asking who was a better bowler.

Experienced an awful moment of grief when I saw only two options. I wanted to vote for both as best bowler.

Kohli has greater highs against great attacks, vs 2013 SA, 2018 SA, 2018 Eng
Kohli also has greater lows like Eng 2014.

ABD played peak Johnson with comfort. He scored plenty vs a great Aus attack on SA pitches in 2018. He stood out when it came to Ashwin/Jadeja in 2015. In terms of his game, I never really saw him struggle to any bowler really outside of his early career with McWarne.

Seems fair enough

Several better bats than AB from the last few decades. More than a few who had multiple series that spanked his best. Not sure I've seen anyone as consistently good as him when things were challenging. Waugh is another option here. Hard to compare.

The clincher is how he handled Mitch Johnson in beast mode. Nobody has the right to seem that comfortable.

AB De villiers anyday in both the major formats. Kohli hardly faced quality spinners in sub continent. Herath, Swann, Lyon, Panesar. That's it. AB has faced Murali, Herath, Harbhajan, Ashwin, Jadeja, Ajmal in sub continent and their stats are more or less same. Coming to playing against quality fast bowling in SENA pitches, AB is better.
