This is in County Cricket, where there are a lot of poor bowlers.
Any league with such a large pool of players has alot of mediocre players and poor players. It's a pyramid, the class players are the least, the mediocre are the middle and the poor is the greatest. It's a rule of any large organization or civilization. It's all relative...

It has never been disputed that the quality of County Cricket is not that high, what is disputed is some of the comments regarding your competitions and players.

Without a reasonable deffense not many players avrage 52 in FC cricket.
TBH if it works for the guy then so be it, afterall it doesn't matter if the bowlers are slightly weaker there is still a hell of alot of qaulity in there and a weaker bowler can still bowl well in periods and still use the conditions to his advantage.

Cricket is naturally becoming a more attacking game and you would hardly turn around and say the same statement about "The Master Of Wacking The Cover Off" Gilly, and he is far more attacking and on top of that he faces better bowlers (domestic and at International) along with loads of different conditions traveling the world, and well it hasn't stopped him what's he avg now 60?. Plus the many other attacking players in the game.

And to answer

If he starts trying to hit the cover off the ball in overcast conditions against good bowling
Now lets face it Warwickshire hasn't been the best of weather of late, and to boot one of the worlds best bolwers in Waqar Younis.. if he wasn't a handfull with his swing then.....

And looking through a few scorecards some of the other big inngs have been against some good teams and good bowlers.

Waqar now is past it, and I was a bit surprised at his signing to be honest - if he still had any ability, he'd be with the Pakistan squad!

But the thing is, where Gilchrist plays half of his cricket in Australia, where the ball does not seam around so much, Pietersen will play half of his in England, where it can do, and that is the key difference.

He may be a success, but to be one, he needs to concentrate on making himself a more solid game, or he'll go the way of Hick, R********h and others.

Gilly did pritty well In England.

Any way he is only 22 he has so much time to develope his game and tighten his tecneque up.
