2 bowlers who bowled in very different roles for their team. Maharaj with the quality and Herath with the quantity. Its kinda tight but I’ll go Maharaj

Johan

Cricketer Of The Year
good in SENA
apologies for never giving a proper answer on this. @sayon basak

I think Maharaj has some of the toughest jobs in bowling, bowling spin in south Africa is every bit as hard as bowling spin in Australia and Maharaj has managed to carve a career out of it, that shows me he has quite a good skillset, he only played 2 games in Sri Lanka but got 16 @ 24 so it's not like he can't dominate on spinny wickets, he failed in India but got some very flat wickets in 2019 and I think he'd do well later this year if he's playing, he also bowled his team to wins in New Zealand and was very good in England. Overall, I think his skill level is just higher so I rate him higher, Rangana is way too pitch dependent for me though he unquestionably had a better career.

Maharaj doesn't get to bowl much in RSA, except when playing at the grounds that turn. And his record on the non-turners is really poor.

He is very good away though.
