MOTM was used to counter the farcical notion that Imran's record flatters him because he had low impact. Simply not true. Everything else I've responded to.

Low impacts compared to Kapil, otherwise..
Imran is one of the greatest ODI players of alltime ( sometimes underrated as opposed to his Test status ).. But his batting numbers are definitely inflated. He is a top 20 ODI player, just Kapil was Better.. Top 10 player.

I am willing to accept his batting numbers are inflated somewhat, but you need to accept that Kapil's batting is being overrated here. And you need to accept that Imran's bowling is also being underrated.

I am willing to admit it is closer if we measure them based on their prime years. Do you?

Kallis has more MOTM than Ponting

I have updated my opinion on the metric after realising Kallis has these many MOTMs.
