2 Tests, one of which was on a road, the other he may have been carrying a knock in. Means **** all. What about Steyn and his record in England then?

Think it's the course I'd most like to play tbh. So different to anything we have here.Planning on being in BC later on in the year. Will have to have a few hits.
Only marginally worse than his record vs England in South Africa...2 Tests, one of which was on a road, the other he may have been carrying a knock in. Means **** all.
He's kind of the anti-Zaheer isn't he? Bowls much better to right handers.Only marginally worse than his record vs England in South Africa...
Sounds like another compelling argument from the ponting denialists to me.How does "no" sound?
Or the same as Zaheer... bowls much better to batsman of the same handedness as they bowlHe's kind of the anti-Zaheer isn't he? Bowls much better to right handers.
Sigh.Or the same as Zaheer... bowls much better to batsman of the same handedness as they bowl
Stats are just one facet. Like I said, take a look at the way they actually bat in the present day, and you be the judge of who looks "better" or more elegant. No doubt you will say pontingThey're contradictory. X averages 70 over 57 tests = just a purple patch.
Y has a strike rate of 50 over 10 tests proves he's far from just an accumulator.
So again, back to the spread sheet please.
Ok, well let's assume that England fans also watch England play in SA. Steyn's record against England overall then?2 Tests, one of which was on a road, the other he may have been carrying a knock in. Means **** all.
Yes that's what happens when one of the people you're comparing is out of whack. Mind you, I don't know that Kallis was fantastic in the SA-Aus series either.Stats are just one facet. Very nearly with the ball alone!Ok, well let's assume that England fans also watch England play in SA. Steyn's record against England overall then?
I understand why people rate players lower when they don't perform against the team they support/watch a lot, but you'd think that'd not be the case considering what Kallis has done vs. England.
Kallis vs. England > Steyn vs. England.

Not that that would surprise anyone really.
But you're a big fan of Kallis, which is fine. Knock yourself out
Preferably repeatedly.
May as well beat Rob to it:Keeping in line with the actual thread, Kallis is a better all-rounder than Ponting, Ponting's bowling isn't all that.
Nah, ponting has only bowled in 34 innings to date, I don't think that's a fair sample. Back to the spreadsheet :Keeping in line with the actual thread, Kallis is a better all-rounder than Ponting, Ponting's bowling isn't all that.
Don't make stereotypical generalisations on here when you've been around a New York minute. You wouldn't have a ****ing clue which posters rate which players compared with others, let alone where those posters are from.ozzies
Should have a battle of the part time bowlers. Be a fun thread.Quite like Ponting's bowling actually.
He's got you nailed down though, tbfDon't make stereotypical generalisations on here when you've been around a New York minute. You wouldn't have a ****ing clue which posters rate which players compared with others, let alone where those posters are from.
Yeah. Would go for a bit of Gooch and Butcher too actually.Should have a battle of the part time bowlers. Be a fun thread.
