His weakness was not posing consistent threat when playing away. It's more visible when you look at versus top teams.
In Eng, he is one of the best pacers to bowl. Away I will take lots of pacers ahead of him who I rank below Anderson. Anderson has such a great record at home that it overcomes his huge weaknesss away and puts him higher. His weakness simply lets him down when comparing with anyone with balanced and good home/away record. Comparison with Steyn would have been closer if Anderson was a consistent threat away.
