This didn’t age well
PCB making this more and more unlikely.Shaheen probably has a better chance of actually having a full career tbf.
Shaheen himself not exactly helping tbf.PCB making this more and more unlikely.
RE: Mohammad AbbasPCB now aren't too keen to have him in tests.
They're letting him play Bangladesh Premier League while he's "resting".Idk I thought I’d read somewhere that he was available and keen for all formats but Pakistan’s excuse was resting him for CT
tbh I also feel like its more difficult to dictate which formats you do and don’t want to play, no matter what you say, unless you’re a full headline player now. Especially moreso in say, Pakistan. They're letting him play Bangladesh Premier League while he's "resting".
He came back from his knee injury bowling extremely poorly in Tests and was basically just dropped. I think part of it is that they don't want to over-extend him and just end up with a crap and unfit bowler in all formats, but I definitely get the feeling that if he said Tests were where his heart was and he'd rather prioritise those then they'd let him. Or better yet, if he hadn't bowled absolute garbage in them for a while.
He genuinely might not be in the best eleven now is the point. If he focused 100% on Tests then he probably would be, but they don't need more than one quick at home with the pitches they're preparing at the moment and he's probably not their best one in his current state. His replacement in SA (Abbas) cleaned up as well.tbh I also feel like its more difficult to dictate which formats you do and don’t want to play, no matter what you say, unless you’re a full headline player now. Its sad either way tho. Let him flop or shine. India has a great pacer now and your legacy is fading.
