I think the English dislike Smith because of a) sandpapergate (wasn't even against them) and b) he's just too damn good whenever they play. So it pains them to give him any credit despite the fact he's miles better than Kohli. Kohli averages 42 against England, Smith averages 56.

Smith is sure better then kohli but just think its banter by Jimmy

Obviously he had to do Broad and not picking the other 3 bowlers (the only non Eng/Indians) would’ve made the whole list even more of a joke.
