It's Tough Being Me - The Kevin Pietersen Story

David Warner looks like he might end up being a bigger prick than KP but Australia have tried to manage him appropriately with punishments fitting his faults. All I have seen England do with KP in the recent past is drop/mock/media scandal repeat ad nauseam. The idiots are more concerned about maintaining their image/control than winning. No experienced player in the English test XI needs to be dropped, most of 'em just need to be rested well before they play again.
I guess, and by no means does anyone know the full story, Warner is not a dick to his teammates, just causes trouble with others. KP is allegedly not a team man.

KP isn't fired for being a wanker. He' fired for being a wanker to his teammates.

I think I took KP's side when he was sacked as captain, was anti-KP in 2012, and now just feel numb. Have flip flopped a lot on the KP drama over the years...

KP is still only 33. Had years left in him. Loss for cricket.
Not sure he did in tests, his knee has caused problems for ages like Vaughan's did. Not the player he was though still capable of the brilliant innings but was never likely to go on to 37/38 anyway.

So you get the worst drubbing in your history, and then get rid of your one world class player?..... and we don't even have anyone in charge when we do itI'm beginning to think that the only sensible candidate for Flower's job is Sir Alex Ferguson

Cook
Robson
Root
Bell
Ballance
Taylor
Prior

That would be my top 7 for the first test this summer.

Ooooops missed off Stokes. Oh bugger I have no bloody idea now.
County form to be all important.

Total speculation but I would not be surprised to see Trott back.

****, gonna have to watch Cook's 500 ball 200 when India tour instead of KP's 300 ball one.

Did wonder that, actually.

One would hope the selectors wouldn't be so daft to jettison him without so inside info as to IJLT's availability, but Lord knows anymore.

It's such a bull**** idea that in order to rebuild a side you have to discard your best players in order to replace them with younger far more inferior ones. Obviously it's far more than that, personal reasons are probably the main perpetrator of the whole mess, but as Jono pointed out, they dealt with it in 2012.

Yep, even more so now, as I keep on saying it should be up for grabs, and within reason they should be looking everywhere. Even with the bowling, and even the make-up of the side, would be depending on who was in form, if it's Borthwick or Ali then they could be the spinner. If not then a specialist spinner taking wickets. If so I wouldn't mind Stokes batting down the order.

Fluid and flexible, that's how we get out of this rut. Age immaterial, and if that means an older guy is doing it fair enough, look at Oz and Rogers, or if he's a young un.

Probably not been a season since the bad old days when early season form can win a call up.

Would say only Cook, Bell, Stokes, Broad and Anderson are certain to play the first test of the summer if fit.

Very strange decision. I'm also trying to think of other 100+ Test players who were dropped rather than retired. Mark Waugh?

It's just complete madness from a selection point of view. Drop one of your best batsman, and just pick a replacement based on two months form, with no idea who that person could be at the time of the dropping. And I always thought I was lucky to not have experienced the nineties.

I wonder if KP will actually have a full blown rant on social media now it's all done. Surely can't get any worse.

Yeah, this is exactly how I feel about it as well.

A very poor piece of decision-making, on the face of things.
