well i think an international series would be a gr8 idea. may-b a world cup?? because at the moment the All Syar series is boring and also i dis-like the format. Of course the players would have to be picked from WCC. wat u could do is, EVery season get each team to have a 1 off test against each otehr. and the may-b also an od comp. while WCC is still going, but u can't select players picked for international duty. I think it'd be gr8. Darden smashing India home against a spirited england bowling side. if this does go ahead could i manager Australia or South Africa

I repeat that any end of season tournament has to keep all managers involved somehow, otherwise interest drops off and you could very well lose some of those managers.
And before you say so what, you actually need a solid group of managers without frequent dropouts and replacements. It seems we're already having trouble finding replacements.
I see the future WCC (assuming it goes on and on!) as having about half the number of teams that it does now with a group of stalwarts making up the bulk of the managers.

Ok Rich ill try to give some reason as to why i find the all star series boring. The main reason why i found it boring was that there was very little involvement, actually no involvement at all for the managers who werent in charge of the all star teams. I will say that i did follow Div 3's progress in the FC competition and the only reason i did was that i had a couple of players involved and wanted to see their performance. As for the OD competition i had no players represented so i didnt even bother reading the results. There has been talk about about a national competition abd i made some comments on it a few posts ago but the more i think about it the more i feel that if your players arent involved that it will end up like the all star competition.

Now i feel that the all star competion is the way to go with a few changes. Firstly i would like to see it compulsory that eash team have at least 2 players in each squad. So 6 team provide 2 players so thats 12 players then the next best 3 will be chosen. Ok before ppl say that the teams will be weaker etc i would like to say that the all star competiton is about the strength of each division not just 2 teams. Secondly, it would be nice to rotate the managers throughout the series so each manager that wants to get involved can get involved. Hope that helps you guys on the board out.

I had a great season and i can count on my fingers how many people i had in the all star team..................oh yea zero.
then there was queensland who i beat had a small majority.

However i like the all star series because i have a few weeks off.
and i dont have the computer to look at all the stats and stuff.

However the national series would be good cause i live in australia and i have an england team. so im sure to win something

We're mainly English Aussies and New Zealanders, so who's going to support the other teams?

With the all star as it was run, we all were tied into a division and had someone to support.

Every manager had the chance of being involved selecting the squads, but only a few bothered too, so that cannot be used as an excuse.

That looks to me to be a very good idea - perhaps have the 6 managers nominating their 2 players (since they know their squads better than anyone) and then the ultimate man in charge picks the other 3 players (a bit like the Ryder Cup wild cards)

Im fully in agreeance with Rich at the moment...

I am prepared to take all suggestions on board BUT reasons why things should be changed have to be provided...

Deckard raised some good points and that is a fair possibility..
Also upon thinking more and more about the international series, it would be alot of work creating another database each season just for this...
