Simply, I think Ashwin is being held by some to different standards than other great spinners and you can use whatever contextual excuses you want for Warne and Murali, and there are similar holes in their record (and in spin friendly environments)

Uh, yes. Anyone who takes 500+ wickets at under 25s is easily an ATG in my book. Only a tiny tiny percentage of test cricketers will achieve those numbers

No. Nobody is questioning them on SC surfaces generally the way Ashwin is questioned on his effectiveness on non-SC surfaces.
