Is Marchant de Lange the new Vernon Philander?

De Lange ticks all the boxes. The thng that i like is how nice the seam is at release.

Despite his build and look, I didn't think De Lange was particularly threatening in the first innings against SL. He took 7, but a lot of those came off of poor shots. His natural build and talent might mean that he could become something but on the back of his 7fer I wouldn't bill him as the next anything. Philander, on the other hand, is one of the most talented bowlers going around. Tahir, one suspects, is going to struggle in test match cricket (tailenders excluded) especially once his variations are exposed.

Tahir does not fill me with confidence. As for De Lange il have to disagree, the balls he dismisd Sanga and Paranavitana with are quality. Also you might wana take a look at the ball that dismissed Jayawardene, top balls. All those wickets were pitched up balls. If he can bowl alot fuller and with his natural inswing, i see alot of batsmen could find him awkward. Plus his bouncer aint to bad.
