rana on the other hand.......................
Too bad... when Akhtar and Shabbir gonna make a comeback, the darling of masses, Rana Naveed won't be able to retain a place in the team. He might well prove to be an efficient towel boy.

but the all rounder part was badly worded
He can't do much baqtting at numbers 9, 10 and 11. Ih he has to become a good all-rounder, he should complete a full season for TN batting at number 6 or 7, and make good use of that position, like his northern counterpart Joginder Sharma.
maybe it's time ganguly gives up the captaincy. he should tell the selectors that it's affecting his batting adversly
It's not so much the lack of runs as te lack of tournament victories. They have just won two major ODI series in five years of his captaincy, two scratchy series wins against Zimbabwe and one win in a truncated series in WI. Moreover, in ODI's, fielding is no joke- it's an important skill, where Ganguly is a weak link.
sami is quick enough to trouble alot of batsman with the short ball...
But doesn't put it to good use- he often overuses that ball, and sprays it all over.

It may soon be time to drop him but it is certainly nowhere close to the time for him to retire.

sounds like a good idea, the only problem being the lack of games with TN.

i'm preety sure it's the lack of runs more than anything.

Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh and Michael Vaughan were not at their best as batsmen, when the were (are) captains, but their teams used to win a lot of tournaments, so it wouldn't matter so much. Lara was not short of runs, but the West Indians didn't win too many series, so questions were raised from a few sections. Ganguly's lack of runs looks a lot worse with lack of series victories under his captaincy.

So TN sacrifice their hopes for the miniscule chance he can be come an "all-rounder"?

Why should they?

saurav ganguly. he is already a butt of jokes in my mobile. but, i think he shold be given encouragement by the mass and should be given a lot of confidence at the moment.
