Whatever it takes!!!
Nope. Dat was RR. Not CSK.
What I mean to say is, didn't the original Twenty20 (2005 -11) competition consist of the state teams - given wacky names and garish colours no doubt, but still the state teams which also compete in the Shield and Matador. This is what I mean,The difference between Shield and BBL can be, off the top of my head, measured in tens of thousands. You'd think more people would go to Shield games for the quality of cricket or whatever (less so than the incredible quality of players in the late 90s and early 2000s) but there are more reasons than that. A lot of which is to do with timing.
Yes and after a review they decided franchise would be better. And it's been great guns ever since.
I was not specifying one more than the other, sufficing to say (as a general point) spot fixing and illegal batting has occurred in the IPL.Nope. Dat was RR. Not CSK.
No, it was fairly conventional iirc and they used the same uniforms as the List A tournament, etc. Then they revamped it into the BBL with city teams instead. What I mean to say is, didn't the original Twenty20 (2005 -11) competition consist of the state teams - given wacky names and garish colours no doubt, but still the state teams which also compete in the Shield and Matador. These are things that happened and not sure what you're trying to say now tbh.Is it also not correct that a similar T20 league was formed, the Indian Cricket League, which the BCCI eradicated through wage hikes and pressure on international boards to penalise players for joining. I think Kapil Dev was also sacked from some position for involvement in its organisation.
Then the BCCI promptly formed their own identical league: the IPL.
Well I do not see anything wrong with that competition. No, it was fairly conventional iirc and they used the same uniforms as the List A tournament, etc. Then they revamped it into the BBL with city teams instead.
It now has the 6th highest attendence on average amongst sports leagues in the world, so I think the change was for the betterWell I do not see anything wrong with that competition.
I don't agree, but I see I'm in the minority here so we may as well leave it.It now has the 6th highest attendence on average amongst sports leagues in the world, so I think the change was for the better
Why?Well I do not see anything wrong with that competition.
I agree with you. I tolerate the fact that the IPL exists and it is surely a good thing that more cricketers can make a good living out of it without being selected for their country, but don't ever expect me to like it. Have gone off it in a big way in the past few seasons.I don't agree, but I see I'm in the minority here so we may as well leave it.
Dreadful idea.i want to hear kennedy's thoughts on a potential city based, english t20 comp.
