Hmmm. He missed a lot of highly bowler-friendly tests in SA, England, and the home series against England. RPI on the wrong side of 30. Average of 20 in low-scoring tests. Very decent bat but think his average flatters him a fair bit.
Do you rate Imran’s batting? Because there’s very little to separate these two

I can’t say as much for Imran, but having watched plenty of Jadeja tests. the only man who’s dug us out of the **** more often recently is Pant. And it’s usually the two together at the crease. Jadeja has also had extremely valuable partnerships with Rahane and Kohli in this timeframe.
Him and Pant are coming in at scores no #5/6/7 should be on a frequent basis, often needing to take the team to a competitive total.

Imran was definitely no superstar with the bat but I rate his batting higher than Jadeja's. Think he is a 35-bat. Jadeja more like 30.

Jadeja the bowler is overrated but the batsman is slightly underrated.
As The Answer fan, I would actually say it’s the other way around. His batting hasn’t been appreciated as much. He’s of course highly rated as a bowler at home, less effective overseas - when he could perhaps take a lower order batsman spot instead (as he’s been better than the middle order of late), while turning the arm over from time to time and being a field presence, allowing us to also then select Ashwin. India ****ed up.

Jadeja is only effective at home. Inzi has a very good record globally. A few blots but he did the biz in many locales. Also excellent under pressure. The big man wins.

Wrong. He has a positive difference between batting average and bowling average, away from home as well. He has been involved in a few overseas wins where he has made crucial contributions.

Though, you could argue that he is nowhere as good overseas as he is at home.
