Because he's a horrible wicket-keeper, one of the worst ever to have played international cricket.deeps said:deep dasgupta has shown he can do the job opening...i dont know why he was dropped in the first place...
You're out of your mind to say 4, 5 and 6 could swap there. Sachin Tendulkar below number 4 would be an act of disrespect for his batting. On the other hand, the option of Ganguly batting at 7 is as ridiculous as it sounds.deeps said:deep dasgupta has shown he can do the job opening...i dont know why he was dropped in the first place...it's obvious india are trying to breed patel into the opener job as well...i believe that for him to succeed at international level,he has to prove his batting AND keeping at domestic level first, or he won't be around for long...till then dasgupta should be the keeper and opening batsman with chopra
1) Chopra
2)Dasgupta
3) Dravid
4)VVS LAxman
5)Sachin Tendlukar
6)V.Sewhag
7) gangluy
4 5 and 6 could swap amongst each other
Well my middle order would be:Sudeep said:You're out of your mind to say 4, 5 and 6 could swap there. Sachin Tendulkar below number 4 would be an act of disrespect for his batting. On the other hand, the option of Ganguly batting at 7 is as ridiculous as it sounds.
Well there is no other way that they would fit into the side (both are good enough). I would prefer Chopra there myself, but Ganguly seems to want to give Chopra a go.Richard said:Bad idea.

I think Laxman is better of at 5.

Both are, we presume, good enough to play in the middle-order, but how do we know that both are good enough to play as openers?Craig said:Well there is no other way that they would fit into the side (both are good enough). IMO India's batting line-up would be the hardest to crack into. That's including Australia's.
Certainly was, but rumour has it he has improved his wicketkeeping.Sudeep said:Because he's a horrible wicket-keeper, one of the worst ever to have played international cricket.
Pointless if you ask me.Deja moo said:There was a thinking t one point of time that Laxman should bat 3 at home and Dravid should bat 3 away .
Yes, because Chopra has IMO been proven clearly not good enough, not because I think Yuvraj Singh is!tooextracool said:yes and that was the point that i made in the other thread....yet you seemed ready to get rid of chopra on that occasion?
Mongia is IMO the best choice for India's keeper, even ATM. It's very sad that he's been ignored for so long now.deeps said:deep dasgupta has improved his keeping HEAPS...and come on, parthiv isn't that flash with the gloves either

I wouldn't call him the most promising either as an opener or a middle-order batsman in Tests; he's promising at best.marc71178 said:in the middle order.
As an opener though?
In place of whom in the middle order?marc71178 said:If a player's good enough, then he will be picked in his right spot.
