Indian seamers..

Lee may be better overall but I'd take both Zaheer and Ishant over him right now.

Based on current series form? Probably yes. In fact if you take the current series alone, Zak and Ish have easily outplayed the Australian pacers.

Series averages so far:

Zak - 7 wickets @ 23 - 60 overs
Ish - 8 wickets @ 18 - 53 overs

Lee - 3 wickets @ 59 - 61 overs
Johnson - 8 wickets @ 22 - 62 overs
Watson - 3 wickets @ 41 - 48 overs
Siddle - 3 wickets @ 38 - 28 overs
Clark - 1 wicket @ 71.- 28 overs

I think he bowled very well, despite the poor returns, which I was aware of.
Yeah they both bowled well in Lanka but if you want proper graveyards for seamers it would've been there.

Actually, I think India have very good depth right now. Munaf Patel, RP Singh and Sreesanth are all pushing Zaheer and Ishant for a spot. It's rare that we have semi-decent bowlers, let alone backups.

Now, it's not quite time to herald fast bowling renaissance in India, but the signs are promising. We'll know in a year or two.
No more wheel of mediocrity then? Maybe you should do an English one.

While Dhammika Prasad got your elite batting line up hopping, and five wickets in his only appearence. Sri Lanka traditionally have been labelled as a graveyard, but it produces some of the best conditions for swing bowlers. On those graveyards, one year back, Vass, Malinga and Welagedara tore through an English side bowling arounf 120k, 135k and 130k.

So you are admitting that Indian seamers lack skills to bowl on slow tracks?

Yeah we do admit SL pacemen are the best in the world. Oh your batsmen too. It's just the stars that they don't well overseas, and Rudis.

We have a few decent seamers, though. You could hardly put Flintoff, Anderson (on this year's form), Sidebottom on a wheel of medicority.

Now if you put our second string bowlers on one, we'll talk

I think India have quite a few good fast bowlers like Khan, Sharma, Sreesanth, Patel, RPSingh and Kumar and can't understand why they don't play 4 fast bowlers and a spinner. They still would have Sehwag and Tendulkar as well.

1st Test

Indian fast bowlers 90.5 overs - 13 wickets
Spinners 132.0 overs - 3 wickets

Probably because the tail would be ridiculous with Dhoni at 6 and Harbhajan or Kumble at 7...
