Would india be better off if bumrah focused on white ball only in the short term? They've already got plenty of test quality pacers in umesh-siraj-shami-undakat and shardul can play at 8/9 in sena for batting depth, ashwin is also good enough to take consistent wickets in SENA conditions nowadays.

and 2 of shami, siraj, umesh and undakat are more then good enough for sena conditions. Means that bumrah can focus on the next 2 years with an ODI and 1 or 2 t20 wc's coming up. Let him build fitness up in whiteball, and if he wants to play red ball again in 2 years let him.

Not really? He's the best Test pacer we have at the moment. Is always going to be a loss in all Indian Tests even if in certain conditions other players more than pull their weight.

they may turn him into an Archer soon enough if he keeps being fragile. its easy to say that he is India's best test bowler and so would be a loss there but he's far more valuable to odi and t20i teams where the team doesn't have any form of replacement that does his job in any way. this team hasn't won a world cup either and the current odi world cup is in India so they may well try to focus on the two world cups in the next two years as a priority first

and how is he 'very talented'? he isn't even a first team player in MP and when he plays he isn't that good either. is he supposed to be good just because his father was Narendra Hirwani?

idk why this has become a narrative? Bumrah is one of the last players that has prioritized ipl over internationals.. filter by the last 4, 3 years and he is the 2nd highest Indian bowler in terms of overs bowled... 2 years and he's still 3rd. its only the last 12 months when he falls back to 10th place and that is because the team had clearly overworked him for a long time and is now paying the price
