BCCI should let him and others take a break from IPL (I do not believe that cricketers can do that without jeopardizing their international careers). Workload he shoulders is crazy.

Surely you need Shami in there in Bumrah's absence, though I reckon they'll play Bhuvneswar as the veteran option. That seam attack is incredibly green otherwise.

Our main issue is death bowling. Shami can't fix it, although his style of bowling can work in Australia. Still feel Avesh's hit-the-deck pace bowling would have helped but he really tanked in the last few games that he played.

Bumrah is simply irreplaceable for India. Plenty of options for the new ball, but we have only Arshdeep and Harshal who might have to handle the death overs. And if one of them gets injured, we're ****ed.

I was very positive that when Arse and Bum play together we would have death bowling covered. Those 2 are rare bowlers good both with new ball and at death. Now we have to fallback on Harshal who has reputation for being a good death bowler but little to show for in non IPL games.

Harshal will need to fine-tune his bowling, but he can be a headache on bigger grounds with his smart change of pace so I am quite OK with him and Arshdeep handling the death overs in WC. The only issue is, if one of them gets injured, we'll be in deep trouble.

Despite of the help for leggies on Australian pitches, I still hope we go with Ash and Axar coz they can even bowl in the power plays if required and offer a lot more flexibility compared to Chahal who needs the easiest overs in the middle overs to get any kind of success. Their batting ability also frees up the other batters to attack with more freedom.

Pandya
Axar
Ash
Harshal
Bhuvi/Shami/D Chahar
Arshdeep

This lineup offers enough variety with the ball while also strengthening our batting.

Our side today is a good example. We just seem to be playing 4 #8s from 7-10 hoping they can make up for the lack of a proper #7.

How much limited overs cricket does Rohit have left in him? As he has got better in tests, he has been pretty mediocre in limited overs.

Was thinking how good has Arshdeep become so quickly. He is clearly India's best bowler in the ongoing t20 world cup. He is not even 24. This is basically Bumrah level of rise in the team. Keeping fingers crossed for his future.
