And they way we are playing we will beat Pakistan and go into SS with enough points to make it to the semis (as India has lost just 4 points to Aus).
Then they'll need to win atleast 2 of their 3 super six games. If Kenya makes it to the super six, that job will be that much easier...:wow:

I think this quote from a reporter sums it all up:

"India may have the better record between the two in recent matches but they have had some very poor performances and a crushing by Australia. Where as England have won every match since they have arrived in South Africa including the demolition of Pakistan. India may feel their batsmen have recovered some form against Nambia while England's bowlers won them the match against Pakistan. Honours even then"
And today we have seen "Demolition of the mighty English team":P

Yeah i agree, SA and NZ are good sides, i hope only one of them qualify for the SS.India will have to beat atleast two teams, if Kenya makes it to the SS then India's job would become easier!

Not over till the fat lady sings...

Srinath and Zaheer have only five overs between them left.
Ganguly will have to come on, or try Sehwag/Yuvaraj (as I suspect he may) if Srinath doesnt prise two out now.

Kudos to Nehra.

I'm yet another person who rooted for him right from the time he made an appearance vs Pakistan in my home ground.
I guess there're a whole lot of us jumping on the bandwagon to reflected glory :D

If we get 'em after two or three overs, with 80+ runs ahead, I'll call it slow death :)
Indian bowlers displaying their wares here. Our much maligned bowlers kept bailing us out when we had trouble in NZ (admittedly even I'd have swung the ball around like crazy there!!).

They've improved steadily over the past couple of years, and it's good to see a potent Indian pace attack.

Flintoff still hitting it around though...

Well well welll...back to normal programming I believe.
India have returned to their normal cricket & so have England.

And what about Nehra!, I thought he was good but nothing special in NZ but now in South Africa he's not only found some pace he's also found some good accuracy and this may prove to be very good for India in the Super Sixes.

Yes Nehra had a very average tour of NZ and England. He was very impressive in the test series verses WI, but later on he just lost his way, its good to see him back to his best.
Nehra has suffered alot because of injuries, if he can keep himself fit then he will serve India for a long time successfully!

All credit to the Indian team, they have played well... but England still fighting to the death, even if it is just to boost the run rate.

However the match was once again decided at the Toss, and the conditions are just completly different come the 2nd inngs... England's bowlers get no help from the pitch... only an inngs gap and the ball moves and flys all over the place.

All I can say is iam gutted for whoever has to bat 2nd in the 2nd Semi - Final at Durban, after a well dervered place they will (happy to bet on it to) lose out because of the conditions.. just like SA, Pakistan and England have so far.

Well I hope if NZ get to the semi's that they don't play in Durban because that will probably be their first day/night match of the tournament.

I always thought Nehra and Zaheer are quality players, as much because of their temperament as their skill.
However, one area they've continued to surprise me is in their speed. I never expected them to continue to become sharper and quicker by the day. I remember one chap I talked to around a year back that Zaheer will hit 90 mph sooner than later. Then he was only going at 86 thereabouts. That itself was a surprising claim for me.. But Nehra, the traditional left arm line and length bowler turning fast :O

Proves that keeping the faith in guys who want to learn and improve is worth it.

Srinath could learn something from these two. He's got tremendous talent. He's so often unplayable when he pitches it up and uses his head. But it took him a decade of international cricket to pick up valuable weapons in the yorker and slower ball. Further, he kept bowling just a bit shorter of length than he should have and so would beat batsmen without picking up wickets.

If the three fast men keep going like this (and they have been consistant of late), we've got a pretty good attack.

That's a tad harsh in sterotyping England as losers again... Considering this is our first lost in South Africa.

Im really surprised to be honest about Nehras pace.

In NZ, Bond was easily the quickest touching 146 k's which would have been around 151-152 on the World Cup radar.
And then Khan seemed to get to around 138 which is mid 140's & Nehra I think did get to 140 once so yeah he was getting up there but definately no where near as fast as he is currently bowling.

Conditions will have changed somewhat, but I'll bet India would have won if we'd batted second.

It's all over.

I saw some old matches of Srinath bowling and he had a completely different bowling action which gave him a lot of pace, making him India's fastest bowler of the early 90s. But then some back injury caused him to change action and completely renovate his bowling style :(

Yeah I apologise for that Rich, but its now 2 losses (India & forfeit to Zimbabwe) & Australia is going to be a mountain to climb if they realistically want to make the Super 6's now.

They still can make it to the SS even after losing badly to Australia (which they will). England will be hoping that India beats Pakistan in their last match, Pak has a very poor Net RR and after losing to India their Net RR would become worse, so in that case England would be the thid team from pool A to reach SS

I still think Zimbabwe are in with a chance also if they upset Pakistan next week.
