This fits with the thread title well thanksA seperate threads need to be created for pathetic umpire decisions .
Yeah, I was thinking who cares enough about Test run rates to track it?I first thought this meant the Indian Team Run-Rate thread which would make sense too considering how fixated they seem with #intent these days.
In terms of the BGT probably the 2011/14 tours. Even then though the result was horrible I actually had more hope before the tour (misplaced hope obviously). Maybe the 1999 tour to Aus before thatI am struggling to think when was the last time I had so few expectations or even hope from an Indian side. It was low before the NZ series anyways but right now, the only hope I even have is that we dont lose 5-0 and even that is a stretch as I fully expect it to be 5-0.
Anything short of Bumrah turning into 86 Hadlee and we are getting humiliatedWe'll probably pull off one win somewhere along the way if not two. Aussie batting's in worse shape than on the last two tours so it squares things somewhat. Also think our sad lot genuinely raises their game a few notches against them so there's that to hope for.
Ok I'll take my optimism and just walk on outta here.
Bumrah doesn't do Hadlees though it would be nice to see a 30 wicket series from him. He can be his usual ***y, effective but ultimately somewhat underwhelming self (sheer wickets tally-wise i.e.) and do just fine if, and it's a big, highly unlikely if, our batsmen pull their considerable weight, literally and figuratively. Not even asking for much, just get 250-300 on board more often than not.Anything short of Bumrah turning into 86 Hadlee and we are getting humiliated
I think it's more likely Bumrah getting a 30+ wkt series than our batsmen getting 300 consistently. A 200 vs 200 is our best chanceBumrah doesn't do Hadlees though it would be nice to see a 30 wicket series from him. Yeah.. that is the closest I can think of.Maybe the 1999 tour to Aus before that
